To understand how the Great Barrier Reef formed, we must first get a glimpse of the ancient landscapes on which it grew. Using bathymetry and ROV imaging, we can visualize these ancient features and answer questions about historic sea-level change on the reef and have a better grasp of the habitats that used to exist there and the communities that grew around them.
