Shellie Habel is a PhD student studying Coastal Geology at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is part of the Coastal Geology Group, which is an affiliation of researchers, lead by Dr. Chip Fletcher, who conduct studies regarding shoreline change, carbonate geology, and coastal morphodynamics. Shellie’s PhD research involves simulating components of flooding induced by sea-level rise and high tides, with particular focus on the Honolulu area. In addition to her PhD research, Shellie collaborates on studies regarding Pleistocene sea-level variability and resulting changes in Pacific Island geomorphology.
