David Pingal is Systems Software Engineer with Teledyne Webb Research. His main responsibility is adding new capabilities to Slocum Gliders, and on this cruise, he will be working closely with the WHOI research team working on underwater navigation. Since adding the electronic still camera system on the first Jason in 1989, David has worked on dozens of ROV and AUV systems. He studied physics at the University of Connecticut. He loves machines that have both software and moving parts.
