Una Miller is a PhD candidate in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University, working at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory with Dr. Christopher Zappa. She was born in Seattle, Washington, where she also received her bachelor’s degree in Oceanography from the University of Washington in 2015. Her research involves boundary layer turbulence and high salinity shelf water formation in Antarctic polynyas. She has been trained to assist with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations on this cruise.
