Rowan Fox is an oceanographic technician at the University of Victoria. He previously completed a BS in chemistry and ocean sciences at UVic, studying a broad range of natural sciences. Technical aptitude has brought him to his current role as MVP Technician on board the RV Falkor.
Rowan grew up in Saskatchewan, Canada, and is therefore one of the many “prairie” oceanographers. Saskatchewan’s Lake Diefenbaker instilled a love and admiration of all waters, and provided a great place for swimming, sailing, and testing of home-built motorboats. Work on the farm taught a great variety of useful skills, which are widely used aboard research vessels such as the Falkor.
