With Tanja Stratmann from Nioz, The Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, Rosanne Dodde her research will focus on deep sea sponges. Together they will try to understand the role and importance of deep sea sponges in fixing inorganic carbon on oligotrophic sea mounts. This will largely be done aboard the Falkor (too) using incubation experiments with stable isotopes after ROV SuBastian has harvested the sponges.
Rosanne Dodde is a Master student specialized in Ecology. She has a Bachelor in Biology from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. She taught about marine invertebrate physiology and morphology at the University of Wageningen. She was brought up by the sea and now in her free time shares the wonders of marine invertebrates with youth through different observation techniques.
