Néstor Ramírez-Zerpa studied geological engineering in the engineer faculty at the Universidad de los Andes (ULA), in Mérida, Venezuela. He has a master in applied geophysics (CICESE) and currently is a phD student oceanography coastal in the Marine Sciences Faculty at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) in Ensenada, Baja California, México. He has worked for seven years in basins modeling and petroleum systems modeling, both for academic projects and in the prospection of hydrocarbons in the oil industry. In his phD project, he is working in a tectono-stratigraphic evolution model in Pescadero basin in the southern Gulf of California, to recognize the geological processes involved in the formation and dynamics of this basin and its relationship with regional geology.
