Matt Rayson, PhD is a postdoctoral scholar in the Bob and Norma Street Environmental Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at Stanford University. His research focuses on using numerical modeling combined with field observations to gain a deeper understanding of physical processes in the coastal ocean. He is currently developing numerical models to study the circulation in the bays and estuaries along the Gulf of Mexico coast with the application of quantifying oil spill transport.

Dr. Rayson received his PhD from the University of Western Australia in 2012. His thesis looked at the tidally-driven dynamics on the Kimberley continental shelf in particular, Scott Reef.
