Kelly Luis is a PhD student in Dr. Zhongping Lee’s Optical Oceanography Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. Her research focuses on the fusion of ocean color satellite imagery for water quality monitoring. Aboard the R/V Falkor, Kelly will assist Dr. Ajit Subramaniam in taking above-water and in-water spectroradiometry measurements.

Before graduate school, Kelly received her B.A. in Environmental Science from Columbia University in 2015. Afterwards, she worked as a Research Assistant at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where she first became fascinated in satellite and optical oceanography.
