Jennifer Le is a PhD candidate under the guidance of Dr. Lisa Levin at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Her thesis research is focused on the characterization of deep-sea ecosystem services and their incorporation into environmental management. Le is a fellow of the Program for Interdisciplinary Environmental Research with a BS in environmental systems and a BA in economics from UC San Diego. She draws heavily on both of these disciplines in hopes to tackle environmental challenges with practical solutions.

Le has previously participated in several deep-sea cruises aboard the E/V Nautilus with ROVs Hercules and Argus, R/V Sally Ride with ROV Jason, and R/V Atlantis with HOV Alvin and AUV Sentry. During this expedition on the R/V Falkor, Le is interested in collecting benthic fauna for stable isotope analysis and quantitative video transects in order to examine the influence of methane seeps on surrounding biological communities and how that influence changes spatially.
