Dr. Isobel Yeo is a marine volcanologist and postgraduate research fellow in the Magmatic and Hydrothermal Systems group at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel in Germany. Her research focuses on the volcanic development of the ocean crust at mid-ocean ridges and the relationship of volcanic activity to hydrothermal venting.

Isobel completed a B.Sc. in geology at the University of Edinburgh in 2008 followed by a Ph.D. from Durham University in 2012 on volcanic processes on slow-spreading mid-ocean ridges. Since 2012 she has specialized in seafloor mapping with shipboard systems and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) to reconstruct volcanic histories and find hydrothermal systems.
