Haunani Kane, a native of Kailua, Oahu, received a B.S. in global environmental science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  Haunani has continued her studies at the University of Hawaii as an M.S. candidate in geology and geophysics.  Her research focuses on investigating the spatial and temporal impacts of sea level rise upon the island’s wetland ecosystems.  During the student cruise Haunani hopes to take advantage of the various mapping techniques to improve her understanding and analysis of the marine environment.
