Colombina Valdés Valenzuela is a marine biologist from the Austral University of Chile and is part of the Laboratory of Biological Oceanography (LOCEB) at the same institution. Her career has focused on high-latitude research within the Center for the Dynamics of High Latitude Marine Ecosystems (IDEAL), aiming to understand the effects of climate change in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions. She has experience in analyzing plankton communities and primary productivity within marine ecosystems. Additionally, she is an environmental activist dedicated to scientific outreach, organizing activities to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and the community. She has contributed to various local projects for schools, NGOs, and institutions, reflecting her commitment to education and scientific communication. She creates educational content and promotes awareness about the conservation of aquatic ecosystems.
