Chris McRaven recently joined the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a research engineer. His interests are in developing instrumentation for imaging, chemical sensing, and communications. His previous experience includes precision spectroscopy using femtosecond lasers and designing microscopes for neuroscience.
Chris completed a Ph.D. in physics at the University of Oklahoma. He will be supporting the Optical Modem component of the autonomous sensor platform and experiencing science on the high seas for the first time.
