Chang-Su Hong is a research scientist for the Physical Oceanography Division at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST). His primary responsibilities are field observation and basic data processing. He specializes in operating various instruments such as the microstructure profiler, CTD and ADCP. He has participated in many survey cruises in the western Pacific Ocean, Drake Passage, and Amundsen Sea as well as the seas adjacent to Korea. This is his third cruise working with Kelvin Richards. Chang-Su received his Ph.D. on the estimation of volume transport in Drake Passage from the joint program between Jeju National University and KIOST in 2014.
