Celeste Sánchez-Noguera is a marine biologist with a background in coral reef ecology and a Master degree in Integrated Coastal Management (Universidad de Costa Rica). During her Ph.D. (Universität Hamburg) she started to study the carbonate chemistry system in Costa Rica and its interaction with local organisms and coastal ecosystems. Currently, she is a researcher at Center for Research of Marine Sciences and Limnology (CIMAR), Universidad de Costa Rica, where she has continued working towards the establishment of baseline information of the local carbonate system in coastal areas. Additionally, her research focuses on studying the impacts of ocean acidification on local species, by conducting laboratory experiments with different organisms.
