Brooke Winans is a senior in geology and geophysics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is originally from Washington and completed the first 2 years of her undergraduate at Oregon State University before transferring to Hawaii in 2012. Her interests include volcanology and remote sensing, and she completed a Space Grant Traineeship mapping lava flows of Elysium Mons, Mars last spring. She plans to attend graduate school in the fall of 2015.
