Brittany Washington is currently pursuing a master’s at Brooklyn College in the Earth and Environmental sciences program. Brittany has a background in journalism and has worked as a Senior video producer and multimedia producer for newsrooms and non-profits for the last ten years, including at HuffPost and the Open Society Foundations.
Her previous work has covered race, the criminal justice system, education, immigration, campaign finance reform, international justice, gender, and economic inequality in Haiti. She has worked in Hungary, South Africa, Greece, Liberia, Algeria, Mexico, and various cities in the United States. Recently she has produced an outdoor adventure series in Bali, Indonesia, “Ms. Communication,” that champions experiential learning and environmental exploration that has profoundly shifted her career from the newsroom to science communications.
