Lisandro Scarrone is a Biology student at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Since 2023, he has been working under the supervision of Dr. Emilia Bravo on projects focused on the ecology of invertebrates from deep-sea cold seep ecosystems. His work includes the processing and taxonomic classification of benthic samples, as well as field and laboratory support for multidisciplinary expeditions.

His main research interests lie in deep-sea ecology, particularly biodiversity patterns and trophic interactions in chemosynthetic-based communities. Beyond research, Lisandro is passionate about science communication and has participated in several outreach programs focused on oceanography and paleontology.

The upcoming expedition aboard the R/V Falkor (too) will be his first international research cruise, and an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in deep-sea sampling and invertebrate ecology.
