Ele Beruschi is an Oceanographer specialized in Marine Biology, graduated from the National University of the South (UNS). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the Argentine Institute of Oceanography (IADO-CONICET), where he is a member of the Research Group in Chemistry of Transitional Environments (GIQAT). His doctoral project focuses on understanding the role of a natural biopolymer, called chitosan, capable of adsorbing and biodegrading heavy metals in marine environments, providing key insights into the health and biogeochemical dynamics of the estuary.
In this campaign, he will accompany and work alongside his research team (GIQAT), expanding their studies to open-ocean environments. His research trajectory is oriented toward marine environmental studies, combining fieldwork and analytical laboratory techniques to investigate the dynamics of organic compounds and contaminants in marine systems.
In recent years, he has participated in national and international scientific meetings and has strengthened his postgraduate training through different courses. In addition to his academic work, Ele is part of the IADO–CONICET institutional outreach group, contributing to science communication, content design, and public engagement through social media. He also participates in cultural and outreach projects related to LGBTIQ+ human rights and diversity, integrating scientific research with social engagement.
