
PhD candidate in Geosciences from the Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Master’s degree in Integrated Coastal Management from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay (2021). A researcher in zoology, paleontology, taxonomy, and marine biology with a focus on invertebrates, he has also incorporated ethnobiology, macroalgae, and fish into his research area. He has completed numerous internships at leading institutions in these fields in France, England, the United States, Brazil, and Argentina. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural of Uruguay. Professor at the Centro Universitario Regional del Este (Sede Rocha), UdelaR. For 20 years, he worked at the Dirección Nacional de Recursos Acuáticos (DINARA – Uruguay), participating in 18 fisheries and oceanographic research campaigns. He is co-author/co-editor of three books, author or co-author of more than 90 publications and 150 conference presentations.
