Haley Ha is the Artist-at-Sea Manager and has over fifteen years of experience in exhibitions, art direction, curatorial research and public art programmes in art institutions in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. She has a Master in Arts from Goldsmith College (UK) with a degree in Cultural Industry and Contemporary Art Theory, and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Media Art from Cornish College of Arts (US). Prior to joining the Schmidt Ocean Institute, she directed and curated exhibitions at the Sunday Kitchen, an independent art space, and she was the Public Program Manager at the Seattle Art Museum, where she organized lecture series and performances focused on ecology, architecture, and cultural landscapes. As Art Director, she led projects with a team in Jeju, South Korea for a large-scale public art programme for a Jeju Binenale, that channeled the ecology of the island, the ocean, and the sea-influenced arts communities.

Haley is also an arts writer and editor, and her work has been published in local and international arts and cultural organisations, including artist interviews and exhibition catalogues at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (South Korea), Seattle Art Museum (US), and local Seattle newspapers.

As Artist-at-Sea Manager, Haley works closely with the artists to plan the Artist at Sea expedition, cultivates partnerships with new and existing arts organizations, oversees the Artist at Sea Collection, and creates exhibitions at various science and arts venues, including Basel, Paris and the AGU 2024.
