Peter Schroedl is a PhD candidate in the Marlow Lab at Boston University. He has conducted experiments to investigate microbes from the benthic ocean up to the stratosphere. The three chapters of his thesis study microbe-mineral interactions at terrestrial volcanoes, seafloor methane seeps along continental margins, and deep-sea polymetallic nodule fields. Before joining the Marlow Lab, he worked in Dr. Larry Edwards’s geochemistry lab, extracting Uranium and its decay products to calculate the age of carbonate paleoclimate records. He loves working on NASA projects, teaching, and gardening.
