Gemma Galbraith is a PhD Candidate at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies and James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. Her research examines the ecology of coral reefs on submerged pinnacle reefs in Papua New Guinea. Gemma is particularly interested in how hydrodynamic processes and geomorphology influence ecological communities on distinct and isolated deep-sea features like seamounts. Prior to her PhD Gemma worked in the Caribbean managing small environmental NGOs, in Papua New Guinea as a sustainable development manager and also as a Fisheries Officer in the UK.
