Tamara Baumberger is a marine geochemist at the Oregon State University and at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Newport, OR. She received her Ph.D. from ETH Zurich in Switzerland and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Bergen in Norway and at NOAA PMEL in Newport, OR. Her research focuses on the gas chemistry of hydrothermal vents and methane seeps with a special interest into the carbon cycle and noble gas chemistry. Tamara served as a principal investigator during the “Observing Seafloor Methane Seeps at the Edge of Hydrate Stability” expedition. She has also participated in Hydrothermal Hunt at Mariana and Underwater Fire: Studying Submarine Volcanoes of Tonga.
