Shauna Edghill is an ocean and environmental enthusiast from Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a BSc in Ecology and Environmental Science from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Shauna’s academic studies in environmental ethics have reinforced her belief in the interconnectedness of people and nature and have shaped her view that environmental challenges are inseparable from human rights and rooted in historical legacies. She currently works with the Trinidad and Tobago Cetacean Sightings Network (TTCSN), where she supports efforts to study and document cetacean populations in local waters. Additionally, she is a current Ocean Voices Fellow, focusing her project on equity in ocean governance and the BBNJ Agreement, and exploring the challenges regional entities face in upholding the agreement. Throughout her career, Shauna has continued to strengthen her commitment to protecting the region’s coastal and offshore environments and the people who rely on them.
