Neera Raychaudhuri is a second year PhD student at Harvard University studying Engineering Sciences, with a concentration in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering. As an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, she works in the Microrobotics Laboratory under Prof. Robert Wood on research topics in bioinspired and biodegradable robotics, hoping to design sustainable robots for field applications. Before, Neera had graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University, where she mainly worked on soft and bioinspired robotics systems under Prof. Rebecca Kramer-Bottiglio. During that time, she also coached a local high school robotics team and volunteered for the FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Global Challenge. Aside from research, Neera is from the Philadelphia area and loves a good cheesesteak! In her free time, she plays keyboard in a band and is also learning the electric bass. She is very excited for the opportunity to work with and learn from all of the amazing scientists about the Falkor (too) and cannot wait to set sail!
