
Biologist with a degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Ecology, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences awarded by the University of the Republic, Uruguay. Specialized training in Systematic Conservation Planning, participatory processes for the development of Protected Area Management Plans, spatial analysis of biodiversity information, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), among others.
Over 20 years of experience working on both marine and terrestrial biodiversity conservation projects. Served as a technical expert at the NGOs Karumbé – Sea Turtles of Uruguay and Vida Silvestre Uruguay, where she held the position of Executive Director for four years.
Since 2014, she has been part of the Ministry of Environment of Uruguay. She worked for eight years as a planning specialist for Protected Areas within the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP), then served for two years as Head of the Coastal and Marine Management Department, and currently holds the position of Manager of the Biodiversity Protection and Sustainable Use Area within the National Directorate of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.
Has led or contributed to various scientific, technical, and outreach publications focused on priority biodiversity conservation in Uruguay.
