Lyanne Abreu brings over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing authentic, interdisciplinary, project-based learning curricula. Holding a M.S. in Science Education and a B.S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, she has dedicated her career to blending her expertise in education with innovative, hands-on learning initiatives. As a former high school department chair and elementary school outdoor coordinator, Lyanne pioneered a variety of STEAM and Expeditionary Project-Based Learning (PBL) units, focusing on experiential learning through initiatives such as Farm to School programs, youth climate summits, citizen science projects and international expeditions.
Lyanne is also a passionate advocate for professional development, leading dynamic workshops to inspire educators in expanding their practices. With a strong commitment to environmental and social issues, she fosters collaboration with individuals and organizations to raise awareness and inspire proactive stewardship. Her goal is to engage students and communities in creating positive, meaningful change.
As a National Geographic Certified Educator and 2019 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, she is dedicated to collaborating with students, educators and the broader community in an ongoing effort of building a more resilient and regenerative future.
