I’m a biologist; I completed my undergraduate studies in the taxonomy of polychaetes and my master’s degree in the reproduction and development of an invasive polychaete species, both conducted in the Department of Zoology at the University of São Paulo. I conducted my PhD in the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo, supervised by Dr Paulo Sumida, studying the diversity and connectivity of polychaetes in the deep-sea of the Brazilian margin, with an internship abroad of 6 months in Madrid, supervised by Dr Sergi Taboada, learning about population genomics and connectivity studies. Was my first contact with my main study subject, that is, the deep-sea. I’m currently conducting my post-doctoral research in the same laboratory, studying the connectivity and reproduction of species associated with organic falls between Antarctica and South America.
