Emily Cowell is a 5th year PhD candidate in the Cordes Lab at Temple University (Philadelphia, USA). She has a B.Sc in Marine Biology from Newcastle University (UK) and her M.Res from the National Oceanography Center (Southampton UK) through the University of Southampton. Her current research focuses on succession patterns and abiotic niches of biogenic habitats and mobile megafauna at methane seep and seamount sites off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica
