Professor and researcher at the Aquaculture Laboratory (LAq) of the Federal Catarinense Institute, Araquari Campus (IFC–Araquari), and faculty member of the Graduate Program in Animal Production and Health (PPGPSA). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (2003, UNIDERP), a Master’s degree (2007) and a PhD (2017) in Aquaculture from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immune response and symbiosis in lucinid mollusks at the Division of Microbial Ecology of the University of Vienna (2024, DOME/UniVie). My areas of expertise include innate immunity and disease resistance in aquatic organisms, as well as host–microbe interactions. I am currently a CNPq Productivity Research Fellow (PQ-C), Brazil.
