After a twenty-year career as a finance executive, Brock Callen, Sr. chose to abandon Wall Street and pursue his two greatest passions, teaching children and using the oceans as his medium. For the last twenty-four years he has worked with Sail Martha’s Vineyard, a public access maritime educational organization. As its Executive Director, he has overseen its on-the-water and in-the-classroom programs, drafting and teaching the four year Maritime Sciences curriculum offered at the local regional high school. More recently he has established an increased emphasis on protecting the marine environment by incorporating sustainability in all that Sail Martha’s Vineyard teaches and offers, including two professional regattas sponsored by 11th Hour Racing to develop and showcase a Zero Waste event model. He attended Trinity College and Columbia University and holds a USCG 100GT Masters License with several endorsements.
