
Ana Paula Osiroff is a physical oceanographer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, holding a Licentiate degree from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). She currently works full-time as a researcher at the Servicio de Hidrografía Naval under the Ministry of Defense. Her expertise focuses on continental shelf dynamics, shelf-open ocean interactions, and the analysis of hydrographic and biogeochemical data.
Throughout her career, she has authored and contributed to numerous scientific publications and technical reports on topics such as the Brazil-Malvinas Confluence, sea-air CO₂ fluxes in the Patagonian Sea, and the hydrography of the Río de la Plata. She is a member of the Latin-American Ocean Acidification Network (LAOCA) and REMARCO, a network focused on marine-coastal stressors in Latin America.
She has participated in many oceanographic cruises in the South Atlantic Ocean, contributing to the collection and processing of CTD, XBT, TSG, salinity, and carbon system data. Her work supports instrument deployment and cruise reporting, and reflects a strong commitment to advancing the understanding of oceanographic processes and their environmental implications. In the upcoming A Tale of Two Submarine Canyons expedition aboard R/V Falkor (too), she will be part of the team conducting CTD data acquisition and seawater salinity and pH measurements.
