Isabelle Baconnais is a graduate student at the Institute of European Marine Science at Plouzané in France. Her research focuses on copper stable isotopes measurement in seawater, as part of the GEOTRACES international program on marine trace elements. Aboard the Falkor, Isabelle will be sampling and filtering seawater for the observation of chemical transformation in Loihi Summit hydrothermal plume using iron stable isotopes measurement. Isabelle is interested in unraveling trace-metal behavior in seawater using their stable isotopes.
