Ashley Hann is a PhD student at Rutgers University studying oceanography. She is broadly interested in using varied in situ and autonomous techniques to understand dynamic marine ecosystems while facilitating sustainable and meaningful interactions with these systems. More specifically, her research centers around the impacts of changing ocean conditions on zooplankton and the implications of that for the larger ecosystem and society. She has previously worked in marine policy, science communication, and science education for government, university, non-profit, and regional park programs. She holds an MS in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University.
