Aleisha Dennie is a Laboratory Technician in the Environmental Quality Programme (Marine Chemistry Department) at the Institute of Marine Affairs. She has experience in nutrient chemistry, algal bioscience, hydrocarbon analysis, and heavy metal analysis, utilizing a combination of spectrochemical and traditional wet chemistry techniques.She holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology and a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biochemistry and minors in Biology and Environmental Biology from The University of the West Indies. Through her academic and professional experience, she has developed expertise in molecular biology, environmental monitoring, and water quality assessment.Her primary research interests include eutrophication and harmful algal blooms involving both macroalgae and microalgae, with a particular focus on their ecological impacts and implications for marine and coastal environments.
