Manuel is a highly experienced AUV Superintendent with over 15 years in the offshore industry, specializing in Autonomous Underwater Vehicle operations, advanced marine search, subsea salvage, and geophysical & geotechnical surveys. Throughout his career, he has held senior supervisory roles with leading companies, including Fugro, Ocean Infinity, and Lighthouse GEO, where he has successfully led AUV teams on complex international projects across the oil & gas, renewables, and deep-sea exploration sectors. His technical expertise spans HUGIN AUV systems (including Superior 6K and 4500 models). Known for his calm leadership under pressure and commitment to safety, Manuel consistently delivers projects on time and to the highest standards.
A dedicated team leader and mentor, Manuel excels at managing multidisciplinary offshore crews, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to health and safety protocols. His hands-on experience includes everything from AUV maintenance and troubleshooting to client liaison and strategic project planning. In addition to his technical proficiency, he brings strong communication and problem-solving skills developed over a decade of service in the Royal Air Force
Outside of work, Manuel is a devoted father to his young son, Luis, and finds balance through his deep love of the outdoors. Whether camping, hiking, or exploring new landscapes with his camera in hand, he draws energy and perspective from nature that complements his adventurous offshore career. He also enjoys most sports and motorsports, cherishing quality family time, values that keep him grounded and motivated both at sea and ashore.
