My name is Marcelo Melo and I am a Brazilian biologist and professor at the Oceanographic Institite of Univesity of São Paulo, specializing in the taxonomy and evolution of deep-sea fishes. My interests in this field encompass a range of topics, including morphology and genetics, describing new species, phylogeny, and understanding the evolution of bioluminescence and biofluorescence.
