Pierre Marrec is a Marine Research Associate at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island, with expertise in ocean biogeochemistry and plankton ecology. His research is primarily observation-based, and he has spent significant time at sea aboard research vessels. Marrec joined the OMI project in October 2024 as a part-time data manager and field coordinator. He was recently selected as a part-time Senior Field Coordinator for OneOBVI, where he is responsible for overseeing all core measurements collected during OBVI cruises aboard the Falkor (too) over the next three years. He also leads underway observations during these expeditions. Passionate about all types of oceanographic data — especially field data — Marrec is committed to sharing Core Measurements results with the OBVI community and collaborating closely with project partners.
