Liz completed her Ph.D. at La Rochelle University in France in 2024, where she investigated the trophic strategies of deep-pelagic fishes in the Bay of Biscay in the Northeast Atlantic Ocean, combining stable isotope analyses and trait-based ecological approaches. Liz then joined the Choy Lab in 2025 as a post-doctoral researcher to study the role of deep pelagic species in the transport of organic matter from the surface to the deep waters via their feeding ecology and migration behavior.
