
Ezequiel Mabragaña is an ichthyologist specializing in cartilaginous fish. He is independent researcher of CONICET, at the Laboratorio de Biotaxonomía Morfológica y Molecular de Peces, Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras (IIMyC), Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, and associate curator of the Ichthyological collection of IIMyC. His research focuses on integrative taxonomy and bioecology of fishes, with emphasis on skates (Chondrichthyes, Rajiformes). He participated in several research cruises on board the RV Puerto Deseado (CONICET), along the Argentine continental shelf (including continental slope), and Antarctic waters.
Ezequiel received his degree in Biological Sciences (Marine Biology) and PhD in Biological Sciences, from National University of Mar del Plata, Argentina. Throughout his career, Ezequiel has authored around 70 scientific publications, integrated and led numerous research projects focused on the taxonomy and biology of fishes, and has mentored many undergraduate students and doctoral fellows.
