Noelia is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratorio de Ecosistemas Marinos (LEMar) of the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales “Bernardino Rivadavia” (MACN). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and her PhD in Natural Sciences at the Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo, Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP).

Her research focuses on the taxonomy, systematics, and biogeography of deep-sea gastropods, particularly those of the superfamily Conoidea from the Southwestern Atlantic. She has participated in several deep-sea expeditions and leads projects combining morphological and molecular approaches to study venomous conoidean gastropods. Noelia is especially interested in revealing the hidden diversity of deep-sea ecosystems and has published on previously unrecognized species.

She has received international grants and awards, including from the National Geographic Society (Explorer Grant), PADI Foundation, IDEA WILD, Conchologists of America, the Lerner-Gray Fund for Marine Research (AMNH), and the J. Frances Allen Student Research Award (Institute of Malacology). Nationally, she received support from MACN and the Incentive Award for Malacology from the Argentine Association of Malacology.

Noelia actively collaborates on research projects with museums and marine institutions in Argentina and abroad. She aims to continue exploring this fascinating and little-known group of gastropods in the Southwestern Atlantic.
