My name is Javier H. Signorelli. I am a researcher working on the taxonomy of different families of marine bivalves from the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. I began my scientific career in 2003, working at the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences under the direction of Dr. Guido Pastorino. In 2010, I finished my Ph D at the University of Buenos Aires. Since 2010, I have lived in Puerto Madryn, where I started my permanent position in CONICET. My primary scientific interest focuses on the taxonomy of bivalve molluscs. To date, I have published almost 40 articles in scientific journals in which I study the taxonomy of bivalves from the Argentine Sea and other regions. Over these years, I have specialized in the study of the families Mactridae, Veneridae, Cardiidae, Tellinidae, among others. All my work is based on type material examination and morphological analysis.

I am also involved in the Argentine Association of Malacology (ASAM) (http://www.malacoargentina.com.ar/), which I founded along with other colleagues in June 2011. Between 2011 and 2023, I collaborated with the association as secretary, organizing four national meetings. Finally, I also participate as curator of the General Collection of Invertebrates at CENPAT, which contains almost 10,000 lot records.
