Valeria Teso is an Assistant Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) at the Laboratorio de Ecosistemas Marinos (LEMar) of the Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales “Bernardino Rivadavia” (MACN) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her research focuses on the biodiversity, biogeography, and reproductive biology of marine molluscs, particularly deep-sea species from the Southwestern Atlantic. She has also participated in workshops and courses related to Climate Change, Conservation, and Sustainability in the Deep Ocean.

Teso participated in the first Talud Continental campaign aboard the RV Puerto Deseado (CONICET), contributing to the exploration of deep-sea benthic ecosystems. She currently serves as Vice President of the Argentine Malacological Association (ASAM).

She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and completed postdoctoral research at CONICET. Her work aims to expand the understanding of the biodiversity and ecological significance of Argentina’s deep-sea environments.
