Lisa M. Pereira, CMP, holds a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Economics and Communications from the University of Delaware. She furthered her education with a Master’s in Administrative Science and Nonprofit Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed a MiniMBA in Brand Development and Marketing Communications at Rutgers Business School. As a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designated by the Events Industry Council, Lisa has also earned several notable certifications, including the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC) from the Events Industry Council, the Certified Digital Marketing Professional from the Digital Marketing Institute, the Professional Certified Marketer in Digital Marketing from the American Marketing Association, and the Digital Events Strategist certification from PCMA.
Lisa has been with Schmidt Ocean Institute since 2012, most currently as the Events and Marketing Manager. She manages all logistics, design, and production for meetings and events, emphasizing accessibility and sustainability. She also plays a vital role in digital marketing, outreach marketing, branding, imagery licensing, and redesigning and maintaining the organization’s website.
Lisa brings a diverse background to her role, having worked in nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors. Her experience includes serving as a paralegal in the casino gaming industry, working in commercial real estate, facilitating mediation programs in the New Jersey court system, coordinating casino marketing programs and events, and supporting a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with rare cancers.
Lisa pursues her passion for wine in her spare time and has achieved her WSET Level 1 certification.
