Jessica Rodgers is an incoming first-year Ph.D. student at Lehigh University under the advisement of Dr. Jill McDermott. She is particularly interested in the biogeochemistry of hydrothermal systems and how they work to support an abundance of life in the deep sea. She hopes that her work will have important implications for marine policy.
Jessica received her B.Sc. from the University of South Carolina in 2021 where she was honored with the title “Outstanding Undergraduate in Marine Science” for her academic achievements and research experience. Prior to beginning at Lehigh, she was a research assistant at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution under the supervision of Dr. Susan Lang.
