Veronique is a Technical Officer at the Australian Institute of Marine Science, whose role is to provide Research Project support within the Reef Recovery, Adaptation and Restoration Team. When she first started in 2015, her primary responsibilities were to conduct physiological laboratory based assays and to assist in the fieldwork to assess Coral Health across spatial and temporal dimensions, and water quality conditions. Since then, her role extended to genetic work as well as aquarium based experiments, notably during coral spawning events. Before joining AIMS, Veronique was working at James Cook University in the Centre for Macroalgal Resources and Biotechnology, where she was manipulating macro and micro algal biomass to enhance production of certain compounds of commercial importance such as polyphenols, omega-3, and astaxanthin.
Veronique was born in France, grew up in Switzerland and now lives in Australia. She completed a Master of Science in Natural Resources Management as well as a double major Bachelor in Marine Biology/Zoology at James Cook University, Townsville.
