Pina Gruden is a post-doctoral acoustic researcher working for the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (JIMAR), University of Hawaii. She is an acoustical engineer with fifteen years of experience in marine mammal field data collection and data analysis and is specialized in signal processing and machine learning for underwater sound. She has a PhD in Acoustical Engineering, and an MSc in Applied digital signal processing from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), University of Southampton, UK, and an MSc degree equivalent in Biology from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her research is focused on developing automated tools for analysis of underwater acoustic recordings of marine mammals.
