Ian is a ROPOS ROV Technician with Highland Technologies/Canadian Scientific Submersible Facility. During both legs of the cruise, Ian will be piloting the vehicle as well as integrating scientific sampling and monitoring equipment onto the ROV. Ian has worked offshore with ROPOS for the last 15 years in a variety of capacities including pilot, co-pilot, navigator, and supervisor. Onshore, his primary role is supporting science equipment integration & design, while also managing the Health and Safety in the shop as well as on deployments.
Ian completed his education in Robotics at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Sciences at the University of Victoria. He resides with his young family in Victoria, British Columbia.
